Welcome to our website

We are a team of five 17 year olds who are hoping to take on the world for Northern Ireland in Abu Dhabi.

 

Over the past 6 months we have tirelessly been involved with the design,manufacture and branding of a scale F1 car for the F1 in Schools competition. 

The mission of Team Nero is to innovate the F1 program and leave a legacy that respects the high standards of work that we have strived to achieve. These standards are:- To provide a sophisticated professional look, that still presents individuality as a team.- To resemble an actual Formula One Team to the best of our ability.  The ultimate goal is to win the World Championship, but with that we aim to do this whilst having fun and embracing the learning opportunity that is F1 in Schools.

 

On the 14th April 2014 we arrived at the NEC arena to compete in the F1 in Schools UK national final. F1 in Schools is a global competition involving over 40 000 students in 40 different countries each year who have to design,manufacture and promote a scale Formula One car. 

 

On the 15th April we left after recording the second fastest car of over 120 teams who had competed in regionals across the UK,coming second placed in the verbal and marketing categories as well as the three girls from our team winning the FIA Women in Motorsport award. Having the second fastest car helped propel us to becoming the highest placed Northern Irish team who will be representing the country at the World Final in November in Ferrari World,Abu Dhabi.

 

Our experience in the competition so far has taught us a multitude of life lessons,such as perseverance,team work,communication and design.

 

However our success in Birmingham was only the beginning and we face an uphill battle to win the competition and claim five scholarships to City University London.

In November when we travel to Ferrari World we hope to return as World Champions to Northern Ireland. Previous competitors have gone on to work in real F1 teams and we hope to emulate this success ourselves.
